Stool test – Avoid iron supplements for 3 days prior to the collection of the sample. Collect a stool sample (about half a teaspoon) and put it in the labelled stool container provided.
Urine specimen (sterile container provided) will be collected on the screening day.
Avoid having your screenings during your menstrual cycle
It is advisable to book an appointment around Day 10 – 14 of your menstrual cycle. This is about one week after your last day of menstruation. If you are menstruating on the day of your appointment, please inform the staffs on arrival. Urine test, stool test and Pap smear will not be done as the presence of blood would produce inaccurate results.
X-Ray
X-Ray is not for anyone who is pregnant or who has done a similar x-ray less than 6 months ago.
Mammogram
Please avoid this examination if you are, or you suspect that you are pregnant.
Please do not use talcum powder or deodorant before your examination.
Please bring along previous mammogram films (if any).
For the best mammogram results, please arrange for your examination approximately one week after your last day of menstruation.
Ultrasound
The duration of this test is about 30 – 45 minutes excluding waiting time. When lying on scanning couch, a special gel is applied to the examined area. A probe will be moving over the area of examination. There should be no pain or discomfort caused.
Ultrasound (Abdomen)
Do not take any food at least 6 hours before the examination.
Smokers please refrain from smoking on the day of appointment until after ultrasound has completed.
Morning appointment – No breakfast at all.
Afternoon appointment – May have a very light breakfast but no lunch.
Ultrasound (Pelvis)
You can have food and drinks before the examination. A full bladder is necessary for the examination, so will require drinking at least 5 – 10 cups of water. Do not empty the bladder until an ultrasound has completed.
Bring ID on your screening day for identification and verification purpose
For Singaporeans, bring your NRIC.
For foreigners, bring your passport as well as Employment Pass/ Work Permit/ Visit Pass and the Health Screening registration form. Stool Sample collected in the container provided earlier (if instructed).
Last but not least, if you are feeling unwell, please postpone your health screening to a later date.
